Consolidates digital exclusive content to deepen audience engagement

Designed for ‘Frictionless Download and Play’, Q PLAY offers all five QYOU Media India channels on Smart TVs and mobile devices

In a sustained effort to expand its media business rapidly, India’s youngest and fastest-growing entertainment network, QYOU Media India launches its first direct-to-consumer app, Q PLAY. Available to download on the Google Play store and directly on Smart TVs and mobile devices, the free app offers all five QYOU Media India channels and going forward will be the digital destination for the network’s upcoming content. The ad-supported download-and-watch app can be simply downloaded without any registration hassle.

India’s Direct-To-Consumer (D2C) model has exploded in growth over the last several years. It is expected to grow exponentially and reach a value of $100 Billion by 2025. Much of this is being driven by the mass adoption of social media and the use of influencer marketing as direct conduits to young Indian consumers. QYOU Media India currently reaches over 125 million viewers weekly on Q branded content channels. The company has a goal of driving that number to 200 million in the next 3 to 6 months. Q PLAY is designed to begin to leverage that audience scale to employ a direct relationship between the company and its user base. Q PLAY will additionally leverage both the large number of blue-chip advertiser brand relationships enjoyed by the company along with the recently announced data initiative to mine data from all sources of distribution, thus driving stronger monetization via more targeted content and ad campaigns.

Q PLAY currently carries QYOU Media India’s five channels – The Q, Q Marathi, The Q Kahaniyan, The Q Comedistaan, and the most recently launched Q GAMEX. All channels feature content that is based upon QYOU Media India’s unique programming approach highlighting the best content from social media creators and digital media stars. With Q PLAY, unique, fresh, relatable, and exciting content will be found in one app, one destination, with many newer channels set to be added in the future.

The 2023 Storytellers Gala will take place at the annual NAB Show in Las Vegas on April 18, 2023. This is the 13th year of NYF's and NAB's strategic partnership. Radio Award winners will have access to the multi-day event taking place 15 April 2023 to 19 April 2023, which is the world's largest global gathering for the media and entertainment industry.

New York Festivals Radio Awards receives entries from radio stations, networks, and independent producers from over 30 countries around the globe. New York Festivals invites award-winning industry leaders from around the world to become members of their world-class Radio Awards Grand Jury.The 2023 Grand jury will be recruited in the coming weeks. Those jurors will include some of the most world's recognizable voices and captivating content producers in the radio industry. Entries are judged on production values, creativity, content presentation, direction, writing, achievement of purpose, and audience suitability.

The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and the Subhas Ghosal Foundation (SGF) are delighted to announce that the Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture will return this year with Mr. Aroon Purie, Chairman and Editor-In-Chief, India Today Group, as the esteemed speaker.

The event will be held on Friday, October 07, 2022 at 7:00 pm at ITC Grand Central, Mumbai.

While talking about his personal and professional experiences, Mr. Aroon Purie will share many valuable insights which he has gained during his lifetime.

As a memorial to one of the most influential figures in the history of advertising, Mr. Subhas Ghosal, the Subhas Ghosal Foundation was established by a group of senior communication professionals. who lived during his era. One of the primary objectives of the foundation is to promote the professional values, Mr. Ghosal embodied throughout his lifetime. With the support of Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), the Foundation has been hosting its 'AAAI Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture' series, for several years, now where luminaries like Rajan Anandan, Uday Shankar, Ronnie Screwvalla have delivered motivational and informative talks.

On behalf of SGF, Sam Balsara says, “We live in an age where media and advertising are shaping and also rapidly changing society. It will be interesting to hear Aroon speak about his journey, how he built a media empire, as well as his views on life today and how the media has changed over the years. I believe this lecture will be helpful and enlightening for both immigrants and natives of the advertising and media”.

Ahead of the lecture, Anupriya Acharya, President, AAAI says, “Aroon Purie has been at the forefront of change and innovation in the news business as it transitioned from print to electronic media and then to digital and social media. A recipient of the Padma Bhushan award, his contribution to Indian journalism is exemplary. I am sure that Aroon’s life experiences will be fascinating for the audiences and we look forward to his perspectives at the Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture.”

The Subhas Ghosal Foundation was set up decades ago, soon after the passing away of Subhas, by a band of senior professionals, who knew Subhas and admired him as a man and as a professional. The Foundation was very active in the early years and has published many books like “The Making of Advertising”, “Dominance of Advertising”, “Creative Judgement” and “Brands Under Fire”.
