Shemaroo Entertainment, the leading Media & Entertainment player has elevated Subhash Somani as the Business Head of Shemaroo’s Hindi GEC cluster which includes Shemaroo TV where he was already associated with and the recently launched Shemaroo Umang.
In his new role, Subhash will be leading the Hindi GEC cluster of channels and will be reporting to Sandeep Gupta, COO, Broadcast Business.
Prior to the new role, Subhash was leading the DTH VAS business for Shemaroo where he was responsible for driving strategic partnerships and launching new services. He was also heading the business of Shemaroo TV and played a vital role in expanding its reach. With this elevation, Subhash will be passing on the responsibilities to Sahil Bhambri, who will be heading the DTH VAS business of Shemaroo.

Newcraft unlocks business opportunities for its global clients including Ahold Delhaize, Pon Holdings, Yakult and JDE Peet’s by combining transformation strategy with operational commerce expertise to deliver growth and tangible business results. Founded in 2007, Newcraft supports organisations in realising change, reaching growth targets and mastering digital capabilities.
The 155-strong business will join the Wunderman Thompson global network, complementing its well-established commerce and marketing services teams in Northern Europe.
The acquisition will further strengthen WPP’s digital commerce capabilities and reflects the company’s ongoing investment into its commerce offer for clients as consumer needs continue to change. It is aligned with WPP's accelerated growth strategy, building on existing capabilities in the areas of commerce and technology. Streaming brands, hotels & booking sites and internet giants feature heavily in this year’s list
YouGov analysis reveals Amazon Prime Video tops the list of India’s most recommended brands with a Recommend score of 84.1%.
The rankings are based on YouGov BrandIndex’s positive Recommend score, which measures the percentage of a brand’s customers who would recommend it to a friend or colleague. Every brand in our Rankings has a minimum sample of 300 and has been tracked for at least 6 months, with all scores being rounded to a single decimal place.
Following Amazon Prime Video, Netflix appears in second (83.1), followed by Amul in third (82.9) and HDFC ERGO General Insurance in fourth (81.1). Dettol Disinfectant takes the sixth spot (81.0).
Two leading names within the hotels and booking sites sector, namely Taj Hotels & palaces (81.0) and MakeMyTrip (80.8) featured in the list this year as well, although they did record a slight decline to their year-on-year scores.
iPhone secured a place in ninth (80.5), the only smartphone brand to feature this year.
Leading internet brands Amazon Prime (80.8) and Google (80.4) also appear in the list in eighth and tenth, rounding off the top ten list in India.
The YouGov Recommend Rankings 2022 have been calculated between 1st June 2021 to 31st May 2022 using data we collect across 14 sectors from members of the public in India every day, from our flagship YouGov BrandIndex tool.
Every brand’s performance is tracked daily against a range of metrics, and our Recommend ranking measures the percentage of a brand’s customers who would recommend it to a friend or colleague. All brands have been tracked for at least 6 months to be included in the rankings. The scores are representative of the general population of adults 18+. All Recommend scores are rounded to a single decimal place.
Zee Hindustan, India’s leading news networks conducted third edition of Hindustan Ki Baat Noida Se on 30th of August to reaffirm the growth of ‘The Industrial Hub of Uttar Pradesh’ - Noida.
